Zeiss Conquest Apia 65 strips away the bulk – but does less give this compact spotting scope more?

Zeiss has introduced the Conquest Apia 65, a new lightweight and compact spotting scope designed for mobile wildlife observation. Positioned as a mid-tier option, it promises high-end optics at a more accessible price point, addressing the common trade-off between portability and optical performance. The scope boasts a 65mm lens with 87% light transmission, an "HD optical system" for aberration control, and a 20-50x zoom range. Its lens features a LotuTec coating for adverse conditions, and the housing is made of magnesium and aluminum. While not the absolute smallest or lightest, it offers competitive features at a lower cost than premium alternatives like the Swarovski ATC.
