Photographer Adapts to Coastal Wind

Chris Baitson's planned fine art long exposure shoot at Kilnsea's Fort Godwin ruins was thwarted by severe coastal winds, making stable tripod shots impossible. Instead of abandoning the session, Baitson packed away his filters and switched to handheld shooting with a standard zoom lens. This pivot allowed him to capture the eroding ruins and a caravan perched precariously on the cliff edge, revealing new creative avenues born from adapting to challenging conditions.
