The company patented the first fluid tripod head in 1946, a design that replaced noisy gears with a liquid-filled chamber for smooth camera movements. This invention significantly improved video and filmmaking by eliminating noise and enabling fluid panning and diagonal movements. Established in 1954, Miller's tripod heads and later full tripod sets became widely adopted, with their systems used by over 265 television networks globally.
