The Nikon Coolpix P950, a favored bridge camera for budget wildlife and bird photography due to its 83x optical zoom, is being discontinued by retailers. This marks the end of production for one of Nikon's most accessible ultra-zoom models, which offered extreme telephoto reach without the high cost of professional lenses. While its image quality had compromises due to its small sensor, it provided a versatile, all-in-one solution for enthusiasts. With the P950 gone, Nikon's superzoom range is now limited to the more expensive Coolpix P1100, featuring a 125x optical zoom.
