Zoom Lenses

While prime lenses have traditionally been lauded for optical quality, modern mirrorless-era zoom lenses have significantly closed the gap, often delivering prime-like results. The versatility of a single zoom lens can outweigh the need to carry and swap multiple prime lenses. Although primes encourage "zooming with your feet," this limits the creative exploration of different fields of view, a capability inherent in zoom lenses. Furthermore, the emphasis on wide apertures for primes can be a hindrance for beginners, whereas affordable zooms teach composition and depth-of-field control at narrower apertures.
