AI Phone Case Could Detect Hidden Cameras with 94% Accuracy

Traditional hidden camera detectors often fail, missing up to 59% of devices and causing user anxiety due to false positives or missed threats. A study from the University College of London highlighted the ineffectiveness of current methods, which rely on spotting lens reflections. Researchers have developed a new AI-driven system called SweepLED, which uses an array of moving LEDs and a phone's camera to analyze reflections. This system, theoretically constructible for $7, achieves a 94% detection accuracy by recognizing the unique reflection patterns of camera lenses.
