Darren Almond's Moonlight Photography Technique

Photographer Darren Almond's "Fullmoon" series, now featured in an expanded TASCHEN book, showcases landscapes captured at night under moonlight that appear as if shot in daylight. This effect is achieved through extremely long exposures, allowing camera sensors to collect enough light over extended periods, such as fifteen minutes or more, to render the scene in full color and detail, similar to daylight conditions. Almond meticulously plans his shoots around the full moon, checking weather forecasts and accepting the risk of losing an entire exposure to fleeting elements like clouds or headlights.
