Alex Yudzon's "5 Garfield Avenue" Transforms Suburban Home into Horror

Alex Yudzon's second monograph, "5 Garfield Avenue," features 35 black and white photographs created during a nine-month relocation to a rural Connecticut house. Intended as a respite from city life, the experience became a source of inspiration, with Yudzon transforming his new home into a studio. The project draws on his childhood emigration from Moscow, experiences of bullying, and fascination with horror films, blending these themes with formal artistic principles. The resulting images evoke suspense and examine displacement and domestic uncertainty, ultimately leading the family to return to Brooklyn due to an unexpected wildlife encounter.
