Z5IIC

Nikon

Announced:

23 October 2026 release planned in Japan.

The Z5IIC carries Nikon’s full-frame stills and video controls into a flat-topped body without a viewfinder. The camera remains substantial at 620g with battery and card. Its 4K/60p mode uses the smaller DX sensor area, which changes lens framing.

Japanese retail availability is scheduled for 23 October 2026. The independent first look used pre-production hardware. Nikon’s fastest extended burst rates exclude RAW; its 30fps JPEG capture mode is separate.

Reviews and field reports

Pre-production first look

DPReview — Z5IIC first look ↗

Mitchell Clark found the Z5IIC solidly built but heavier than its flat-topped design suggested. The report identifies useful video tools including a waveform display and tally light. Its sample gallery used pre-production JPEGs under Nikon’s restrictions; full-resolution RAW testing and a final verdict were still pending.
