The EOS R6 V puts open-gate and internal RAW recording in a body with sensor stabilisation and active cooling. It uses Canon’s photographic control layout and omits an electronic viewfinder. CFexpress is the main recording medium, with SD available for lighter formats and companion files.
RAW Standard and RAW Light have different frame-rate limits. Oversampled 4K Fine reaches 60p; the 120p mode uses standard 4K. The availability note records Canon’s announced schedule.
Richard Sibley found the stabilisation and familiar controls useful for handheld video, with reliable face detection in his tests. The relatively dim screen was a limitation outdoors. He also identified the absence of the C50’s XLR handle, timecode synchronisation and shutter-angle control as practical differences.
Announcement and first-release dates are labelled separately; availability can vary by market. Specifications can vary by region, firmware and recording mode; use the linked manufacturer documentation for those conditions.
