Unveiled in Cannes on 14 May 2026; the announcement page was published 15 May. Detailed European release coverage appeared 30 July; the previously stated June retail date has not been established by the cited announcement.
Pocket 4P adds a separate 60mm camera alongside its 20mm wide camera. The two modules have different sensors, log profiles and slow-motion limits. D-Log2 is restricted to the wide camera at 1×, so a lens change also changes the grading workflow.
Gunther Machu measured 16 stops at SNR=2 in 4K25 D-Log2 at ISO1600 on the wide camera, with about 10 stops of exposure latitude. The telephoto measured 11.6 stops at SNR=2 and eight stops of latitude. Deep recovery exposed the limits of the 10-bit codec; the chart result does not mean every recording mode matches a cinema camera.
After a week of use, this owner liked the internal-storage transfers and colour matching between the wide and telephoto cameras. They found 2× digital zoom softer, and reported that heat could prevent charging, although it had not stopped their recordings. They also reported a small audio-sync offset with the backup microphone track.
Announcement and first-release dates are labelled separately; availability can vary by market. Specifications can vary by region, firmware and recording mode; use the linked manufacturer documentation for those conditions.
