GR IV Monochrome

Ricoh

Announced:

13 February 2026 release in Japan.

The GR IV Monochrome records black and white at the sensor, so colour cannot be recovered from its RAW files. Its switchable red filter changes tonal relationships before capture. The fixed wide-angle lens and pocket-sized body suit photographers who are comfortable composing at one focal length.

Independent review

Mitchell Clark · DPReview · review ↗

Clark praised the image detail, small body and stabilisation in low light. Tracking autofocus and the fixed rear screen were weaker points. The price is a substantial premium for a camera that records only black and white.
