ALEXA Mini LF

ARRI

Announced:

Announced 28 March 2019; ARRI later confirmed production shipments beginning 18 September 2019.

The Mini LF combined ARRI’s large-format sensor with a body sized for compact rigs. Internal ND filters and Codex Compact Drives were part of the design; the viewfinder remained a separate component.

Independent coverage

CineD · ALEXA Classic and Mini LF lab test ↗

Machu measured 13.5 stops at SNR=2 in ProRes 4444 XQ at ISO 800 and 13.4 in ARRIRAW. His studio test found about ten stops of exposure latitude, with noise reduction needed for the deepest recovered shadows. These are results from the tested modes, rather than a general rating of every recording format.
